Elise Hall (musician)
Elise Hall (1853–1924) was one of the first prominent female saxophonists in the United States.〔Cottrell, Stephen (2012). (''The Saxophone'' ), pp. 243–245. Yale University Press〕 She founded the Boston Orchestral Club.
She was a patron of saxophone repertory and commissioned scores from Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, Vincent d'Indy, André Caplet and other composers of the day.
